How to Wipe a Hard Drive

Sometimes we want to delete our some private data from our disk forever, so we simply delete them or format disk and thinks that it has gone forever but it's not. It can be easily recovered by data recovering software. To completely remove data forever, we should have to do some extra steps.

When we format a hard drive, the data of drive won't delete actually, only location information of data deleted, that's why the operating system can not see the data and the drive look empty. It can still be easily recovered by data recovering software or some experts can easily do it without using special software (by using basic HDD software). But don't worry, you can remove data permanently from your hard drive by wiping hard drive.

How to Wipe a Hard Drive

Just follow these simple steps to wipe hard drive easily.

1 - Must backup any important data for future use because once you wipe hard drive you can't recover your data.

2 - Grab a free data destruction software e.g. DBAN or HDDErase. You can also erase data completely using some other methods but you will not be able to use your hard drive again. So must use a software.

3 - Install the software or, in the case of a bootable program like DBAN, get ISO image on CD/DVD or a USB device. It will burn the ISO image to that disk/drive and then boot from that disk.
